About Specialist Consulting (Outpatients) at Monash Health

Specialist Consulting (Outpatients) at Moorabbin Hospital provides an extensive range of medical and surgical services running around 60 clinics per week across a range of Oncology, Haem/Oncology, Gynaecology, Urology, ENT and General Surgery, supported by multidisciplinary staff including allied health specialists, diagnostic services and interpreter assistance.

We offer care for consumers of all ages with a broad range of complex care requirements in an ambulatory setting.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Specialist Clinic team.  We are looking for you to bring demonstrated clinical skills in an Ongoing Part Time role, with shifts across Monday to Friday working 64 hours per fortnight. No Nights! No Weekends!

As an RN within Specialist Clinics (Outpatients) you will work across a varied caseload which changes from day to day – no two days will be the same! Some of the tasks you will provide, however not limited to include ENT Scope Care, Wound Management, Ortho/Cast Applications, complete in-room procedures, Clinical Preparation and organise transport bookings/Clinic Coordination, – knowledge of an outpatient Clinic would be highly desirable, however not essential.

You will deliver efficient & effective care, confidently providing support to the unit, stakeholders and external community for access to our clinic services, resulting in a collaborative approach.

About You

Thriving in a dynamic environment, you bring a positive team approach to delivery holistic care to our patients and flow throughout the clinics required for the day.

You have well-developed problem-solving skills, an innovative approach and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Having well developed clinical skills, whether that be from a Surgical/Ward/Theatre Background, experience managing complex and chronic wounds is essential to this role.

Being an experienced Registered Nurse, you will bring your experience and expertise to this role. You will be willing to assist and guide others whether that be face to face or via webex, and step up into an Associate Nurse Manager role when required. What you need:

  • Demonstrated Acute Clinical nursing experience within a hospital setting, in an Outpatients (desirable but not essential)

  • Australian working rights

  • Current AHPRA registration

  • Employee level Working with Children Check
