A day in the life

The Bed Access Manager as part of the Bed Access Unit team is responsible for undertaking daily access operations to ensure timely access for planned and unplanned admissions to acute and subacute beds across Monash Health. This includes management of direct admission, inter-hospital transfers, and escalation of demand and capacity issues.
In this important role you will work across multiple sites and be responsible for the allocation of emergency, elective, and unplanned admissions to ensure effective and efficient patient access to care. You will collaborate extensively with key staff, monitoring demand and capacity and escalating when demand exceeds capacity.
Rotation currently across four main sites – MMC Clayton, Monash Children’s Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, and Casey Hospital. It is expected all staff can rotate through the four sites as part of the role.
This is a Fixed term part time role until 11th January 2022, 7 shifts per fortnight
What you bring
Recent acute clinical nursing background, Division 1 Registered Nurse is essential Recent Experience in a bed management role is preferrable.
Recent experience in an Associate Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Consultant or Clinical Liaison Role is essential.
