ABOUT THE ROLE:
Summary of the role:


We are seeking motivated Clinicians to join our Emergency Mental Health (EMH) team. The EMH Senior Clinician plays an integral role within the ED, Triage and PACER providing an interface between community and inpatient services within public mental health.

  • Senior Clinician RPN4 or equivalent
  • Or Clinician RPN3 equivalent will be considered
  • Part time and full time positions
  • ECATT will rotate between Werribee Mercy Hospital and Western Hospital Emergency Department
  • Triage is based in the Clare Moore Building at Werribee Mercy Hospital
  • Provide comprehensive mental health assessments and address immediate treatment needs for clients triaged and referred
  • Liaise with current client supports, and identify and refer where appropriate
  • The PACER clinician in partnership with Victoria Police, provides a high level of clinical expertise in the assessment and delivery of targeted interventions to consumers with complex mental health needs and their family/carers.


ABOUT YOU:

  • Registered with AHPRA as a Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Psychiatric Nurse with relevant Postgraduate qualifications OR an approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
  • Minimum of 3 years post graduate experience in acute mental health using recovery based framework
  • Motivated to work in a very busy department treating mental illness and people in psychiatric crisis
  • strong understanding of AOD
  • excellent communication skills
  • able to work a 24/7 roster - this includes night shift
  • Resilience and a positive approach working in a fast paced environment, with experience liaising with Emergency Department staff, Ambulance and Victoria Police.

Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
