The McKellar Mental Health and Wellbeing Unit is a purpose built mental health facility providing individual, holistic mental health care for independent adults aged 50 years and above. Your new role


McKellar Mental Health and Wellbeing Unit (MK MHWBU)


This  newly developed 16 bed unit is due to open in September 2022 and will provide specialised mental health care for independent adults (50 years +), including those with complex mental health and general health co-morbidities.


Swanston Centre Acute Psychiatric Inpatient Unit (SCA)


Our 32 bed acute psychiatric admission unit provides recovery orientated care delivery for people aged 16 and over, experiencing the effects of major mental illness/distress.


Your duties:



  • Provide high quality, best practice direct delivery of psychiatric treatment and care to consumers

  • Strive to continuously update and develop skills in a timely manner

  • Ensure a multidisciplinary approach


Shifts in our acute services include AM/PM-8 hours and night shift-10 hours.


About you:



  • Recognised psychiatric/mental health nursing qualifications and experience

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to function as a member of the multidisciplinary team

  • Committed to working towards a best practice model and delivery of care
