Registered Psychiatric Nurse

Mid-West Area Mental Health Service (MWAMHS)

  • Rotating roster including night shift, weekends, afternoons and mornings.
  • Based at Sunshine Hospital
  • Full time and part time opportunities

MWAMHS delivers specialist clinical programs and provides a comprehensive range of specialist mental health services to people who reside in the local government areas of Brimbank, Melton and parts of Hume (Sunbury/Bulla).

  • You will be part of The Sunshine Adult Acute Psychiatric Unit (SAAPU) - a 29 bed service which provides therapeutic support for Mental Health consumers on their path to recovery.

Your New Role:


  • Engage with and support consumers, their families and their carers with their mental health needs

  • Support the delivery of a recovery oriented and trauma informed service
  • Deliver evidence-based mental health and nursing interventions to consumers families and carers
  • Exciting opportunities for professional development and career progression with new beds opening at the Sunshine hospital site in 2023.

About you:

  • AHPRA Registered Nurse with ward experience 
  • Willing to work on a rotating roster within our supportive and dedicated multidisciplinary team.
  • Possess well-developed knowledge and understanding of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation, policies and strategic directions of Public Mental Health Services
