VCAT is part of Victoria's justice system and is a tribunal that serves the community by providing access to a forum for resolving disputes and making decisions where required by law in its Administrative, Civil, Human Rights, Planning and Environment and Residential Tenancies Divisions
The Administrative Division is one five divisions at VCAT and incorporates the Review & Regulation and Legal Practice Lists. The Review & Regulation List has jurisdiction from numerous Acts of Parliament to review decisions of original decision-makers, conduct inquiries and accept referrals from other agencies. The Legal Practice List hears and decides disputes between lawyers and clients about legal services, costs and lawyer conduct.
About the role
The Registrar, Administrative Division is responsible for the effective management and leadership of the day-to-day operations of seven Registry staff. Working closely with the Administrative Division Members, the Registrar is required to monitor the performance of the Division and proactively drive service excellence using innovative improvement initiatives.
