Regulatory Intelligence and Design Lead

• $127,467 - $170,579 (Plus Superannuation)
• Fixed Term  - until 31 December 2023

The Team

The position of Regulatory Intelligence and Design Lead forms a part of the Resources Branch within the Forestry, Resources and Climate Change Group.

The Resources Branch develops policy, programs and regulation to enable investment and generate jobs through the sustainable development of the State's earth resources, including extractives, minerals and petroleum.

The Role

The Regulatory Intelligence and Design Lead will help establish risk-based, intelligence-led, integrated regulatory responses and systems in Earth Resources Regulation.

Key Accountabilities will include but are not limited to:

• Lead the design and build of a capability which can develop risk frameworks, identify and assess risks and design appropriate integrated compliance responses across the resource lifecycle.
• Develop programs to build the understanding of risk management and intelligence-led regulation across the regulator.
• Continually contribute to improve systems, policies and procedures to ensure they are effective and meet regulatory requirements and expectations about transparency, consistency and supportability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities by identifying opportunities and proposing innovative, system-based approaches to regulatory problems.
• Provide advice and briefings to Senior Executives on matters relating to regulatory intelligence and design as required.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of regulatory approaches, based on extensive experience in regulatory and compliance roles. They will have an understanding of intelligence systems, approaches and tools developed to support regulatory responses as well as the design of integrated compliance programs that address risk.
