An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Clinical Research Coordinator to join our Infectious Diseases Department.

The Austin Health Infectious Diseases Department provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient infectious diseases services to Austin Health (including Austin Hospital, the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre, Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital and Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre) as well as to a number of regional hospitals in Victoria
The Austin Health Infectious Diseases Department has a very active research program with research interests focusing on antimicrobial allergy, general infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C & B, hospital-acquired infections and antimicrobial resistance, infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship, travel-related infections, viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections, and infections in immunocompromised hosts including critical care. Over the last 12 months the department has additionally led research into COVID infections and COVID vaccination.
Consisting of clinical and laboratory research streams the program has a number of clinician researchers, PhD students and is a site for advanced training in infectious diseases.

The Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for the management of a number of investigator-initiated or sponsored clinical research projects within the Department of Infectious Diseases, Austin Health. The Clinical Research Coordinator will work under the direction of the Research Manager and relevant Principal Investigator (PI) for the study, in conjunction with other members of the Infectious Diseases Research Team. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, superior organisational and communication skills and an ability to multitask.
