About us

Fines and Enforcement Services (FES) is a business unit within the Department of Justice and Community Safety's Fines, Registration and Crime Prevention group. FES is responsible for managing the end-to-end infringement system in Victoria.

The Review Officer role is located within Enforcement & Support Services, which is a branch of FES. Review Officers primarily deal with applications submitted by members of the public seeking review of registered infringement fines and applications for payment arrangement.

Enforcement & Support Services also administers a range of social justice initiatives, such as the Work & Development Permit Scheme, Family Violence Scheme and Time Served Scheme.

About the role

The Review Officer will be responsible for but not limited to;

  • Provide support to the Operations Team Lead to ensure the successful administration of the Fines Reform Act 2014.
  • Exercise professional judgement regarding the application of Standards of Service and other relevant rules, policies and guidelines to assist in the day-to-day operations of Fines Victoria, including the determination of payment arrangements and enforcement review applications and handling general enquiries.
  • Provide accurate and timely advice and liaise with other Fines Victoria units, enforcement agencies, and other interested parties on infringement and other matters arising within the jurisdiction of Fines Victoria.

About you

As our ideal candidate you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • An understanding of the infringement lifecycle, the Infringements Act 2006 and the Fines Reform Act 2014, or experience in the practical application of other legislation or policies is highly desirable.
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office and relevant IT systems and applications.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving concepts in the right context.
