Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing (RUSON) - Parkville
Fixed term - 8 hours per week (12 positions of 8 hours per week are available)
6 month contract

Your contribution  

The role of RUSON provides you with the golden opportunity for secure employment at The Women's (Parkville) whilst contributing to the creation of exceptional experiences for women and their families during your nursing studies.
Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Work with one or more nurses to provide delegated care to a group of women
  • Provide clinical support and assistance to others as requested relevent to the RUSON core duties list

About you

To be successful within this role you will need to have:

  • Currently enrolled at a university to undertake undergraduate nursing study, who is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a student nurse, and who at commencement, has successfully completed not less than 12 months of the Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery degree
  • Demonstrated satisfactory academic progress in the Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery (Credit or above for all subjects and competency in clinical placements preferred but not essential)

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

Please be aware that in line with the Health Minister's Covid-19 Mandatory Vaccination Order, all workers at the Women's regardless of role, will be required to be fully vaccinated (3 doses) for COVID-19 or hold an acceptable medical exemption.

Influenza Vaccination Requirement

In line with the Health Services Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers) Act 2020, some health care workers are now required to have their flu vaccination to work in health care. Evidence of vaccination is required.

 As this role fits into category A or B of the departments risk ratings, applicants will be required to have been vaccinated against influenza. Evidence of vaccination is required.
