The OHS Advisory Team provide health and safety coaching, advisory and support, working collaboratively with stakeholders to build capability in relation to managing risk, influencing, and inspiring a positive safety culture.

We are seeking a Full Time Safety Advisor to join the team!

A Day in the Life: 

Taking on the Mental Health portfolio across all sites; this is a busy and fast paced portfolio with some really engaged stakeholders.

You will be conducting risk assessments, internal OHS audits, coaching managers to lead a positive safety culture, reporting to OHS committees, completing site assessments and supporting WorkSafe interactions.

This role will require some travel with one day a week at Scoresby, two days onsite supporting the operational portfolio across all sites and two days from home.

Working within a collaborative team with diverse backgrounds, you will be part of a team of 11 advisors reporting to the Safety Manager and wider team of Health Safety and Wellbeing.

About You: 

You are an experienced and passionate Safety professional with ability to effectively communicate and influence change. You lead by example, thrive working in a dynamic, fast paced environment and are truly passionate about delivering a high standard of safety. This is a Full-time Ongoing Role with the OHS Advisory Team.

What you need:

  • Hold minimum of Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety. 
  • Clinical or health experience well regarded.
  • Sound knowledge of and demonstrated ability to interpret and apply Health and Safety Legislation, regulations, and guidance material.
  • Demonstrated understanding and ability to implement risk management frameworks and facilitate incident investigation processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, coach and influence stakeholders at a range of levels to build capability in relation to Health and Safety and managing risk.
  • Strong communication skills inclusive of written, verbal, facilitation, negotiation, conflict management and capacity to escalate issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to set goals and work to timeframes.
  • Current Drivers license.
