A Seasonal Clerkship at the Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) provides you with an excellent introduction to the Criminal Justice System. During your three week placement, you will have exposure to prosecutions in a courtroom setting and gain insight into the operations of the OPP.

Seasonal Clerkship Program 2022

Paid placement based on VPS Grade 1 salary of $50,594 per annum.

We are offering a three-week placement from Monday 27 June 2022 to Friday 15 July 2022.

  • Are you interested in learning more about criminal law and the Office of Public of Public Prosecutions' (OPP) contribution to the fair and effective operation of the Criminal Justice System?

Please Note:

The OPP's Seasonal Clerkship Program is being offered in accordance with the LIV Seasonal Clerkship and Traineeship Guidelines 2022, to students who are in their final or penultimate year of study; that is, they intend to commence their final semester in 2022. 

Priority offers will be made to eligible participants of the Seasonal Clerkship Program 2022 to join the OPP's Legal Traineeship Program in 2023.

The OPP is committed to increasing employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and will be allocating at minimum, one Seasonal Clerkship 2022 and one Legal Traineeship in 2023 to a candidate who identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

To be eligible for consideration, all applicants must be available to attend an assessment centre between 8 to 21 September 2021 and interviews between 27 September and 8 October 2021.

If you are invited to attend an assessment centre, you will be required to bring photo identification.
