An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Clerical Support Officer to join the Brain Disorder Unit Team. The Brain Disordered Unit (BDU) is a specialised, state-wide, 30 bed slow stream rehabilitation unit providing services to clients between the ages of 16-65 living with an acquired brain injury and a mental illness. The unit is located within the scenic gardens and grounds of the Royal Talbot Hospital campus.

Essential knowledge and skills include:

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Person-centered approach to your working style

  • Experience with managing online databases

  • Proficiency and demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office 365

  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn 

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • A commitment to Austin health Values

Desirable but not essential skills:

  • Experience working in a mental health setting

  • Knowledge of medical terminology; training can be provided
