Senior Aboriginal Engagement Adviser at EPA will:

Positioned in the Communications & Engagement Directorate this exciting new role will have a state-wide focus working collaboratively across the whole of the EPA organisation, particularly with each of the EPA regional officers, the Victorian Government and other regulatory agencies.

The role will play a lead role in developing strong, sustainable relationships with Traditional Owners and their inclusion in EPA's regulatory approach. It will work closely with the Aboriginal Inclusion Action Plan function. The role will provide the EPA with a new strategic capability in building and effectively maintaining strong partnerships with Traditional Owners across Victoria. The role will develop a co-ordinated and strategic program for engagement with Aboriginal communities, Traditional Owners and Registered Aboriginal Parties across Victoria and be part of delivering EPA's commitments to its Aboriginal Inclusion Action Plan. This is a fixed term position with EPA until 30 June 2024, based in our Carlton Head office.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. You will have demonstrated experience (5-10 years) in stakeholder and community engagement, strategic communications.

You will have experience and knowledge of Victoria's Traditional Owners and Aboriginal people and communities, their culture values, protocols and other issues relevant to Aboriginal communities, in both urban and regional areas of Victoria.

You will possess an understanding workings of government and of statutory and regulatory environment particularly environmental issues and management practices.
