About us

Based within the Service Delivery Reform, Coordination and Workplace Safety Division, Ministerial Services is responsible for coordinating Cabinet, Parliament, legislation, statutory appointments and international Ministerial travel. The branch supports Ministers to help meet their responsibilities in relation to statutory authorities in their portfolios.

About the role

As a Senior Adviser, you will provide support and coordination in the management of key functions associated with statutory entities within the Justice portfolio, including Cabinet and Parliament services. In the role, you will:

  • provide authoritative advice to Ministers and senior executives relating to statutory appointments and Cabinet and Committee items
  • prepare complex briefings and correspondence
  • build and proactively maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • identify, develop and implement improvement initiatives to systems and procedures
  • mentor junior staff and assist with their development
  • undertake project work.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • knowledge of Executive Council Processes, Cabinet and Cabinet Committee processes or equivalent deadline-driven, high quality and authoritative briefing/process work
  • the ability to manage projects within a complex environment and coordinate amongst different stakeholders
  • strong leadership skills, with experience in effectively managing and supporting staff to provide high quality service delivery outcomes
  • excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
