The Cabinet, Communications and Corporate group is responsible for providing core whole of government and departmental services. The group is responsible for overseeing Cabinet management, strategic communications, engagement and protocol (including behavioural insights), corporate governance, public sector reform and the department's corporate services.

The Strategic Communication, Engagement & Protocol branch (SCEP) leads a coordinated approach to communication, engagement, and protocol across government. SCEP has a key role in influencing and encouraging the delivery of modern and professional communication and engagement services and standards across government, and shaping Victorian Government communication strategy, policy, and practice.

As the Senior Adviser, Protocol and Events, you will provide advice on matters of protocol, state, national and international observances and conventions. The team provides event and international visit program delivery and best practice advice and support to branches and agencies across the Whole of Victorian Government. 

About you

  • experience working in protocol, international relations or event management
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • ability prepare complex briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language
  • experience with all aspects of domestic and international protocol
