A fantastic opportunity exists for a highly motivated and dynamic candidate to join the Department of Premier and Cabinet's People and Culture branch as a Senior Adviser, Workplace Relations.

The People and Culture branch works across the department and its portfolio agencies, to create a high performing workplace that puts people first.

As the Senior Adviser, Workplace Relations, you will provide high-level strategic advice and support to HR Business Partners and Department Executives on a broad range of complex HR and industrial matters, including enterprise agreement interpretation, resolving employee disputes and grievances, managing sensitive investigations and ensuring compliance with change management and union consultation requirements.

You will also provide coaching and support to senior stakeholders on contemporary developments in employment law and industrial relations and its application to the Department's workforce.

This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate who has an excellent understanding of the Fair Work Act framework and relevant state legislation, who is comfortable interpreting and providing advice on complex industrial instruments.

  • Ability to identify complex stakeholder issues and manage and monitor the impact and risk of a program, project or issue on people.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide succinct and clear expert advice to stakeholders on a range of employment, change management or health and safety matters.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical ability.
  • Well-developed stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
