Senior Advisor, Aboriginal Program

  • Annual Salary Range: $101,120 - $122,348 per annum plus superannuation
  • Tenure: Fixed Term (12 months)
  • Employment Type:  Full Time
  • Usual Work Location: Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available)

 

About the Division

 

This role will be part of the Organisational Development and Learning branch of the People and Business Services Division. The Division aims to provide business enabling people and corporate services functions, to drive a high-performance culture and to support integrated operations.

 

About the Opportunity

This is a special measures role and only Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples are eligible to apply, as per the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.

As Senior Advisor for Aboriginal Program, you'll manage the delivery of Aboriginal inclusion projects. You'll lead the delivery of Aboriginal programs to help drive organisational culture through a range of strategies and initiatives.

 

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of key issues impacting upon Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, particularly in the context of employment and career progression.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective stakeholder management, including identifying shared issues; building mutually beneficial partnerships; identifying and responding to stakeholder needs; ensuring stakeholder outcomes are achieved; and finding solutions to resolve stakeholder issues.
  • Experience in developing and delivering Aboriginal strategies, programs, projects, and initiatives in accordance with agreed plans while keeping across and respond to the emerging needs of the organisation.
  • Ability to interpret and provide sound advice on contemporary Aboriginal workforce related initiatives and strategies, relevant state and federal employment legislation, and local policies and procedures while challenging the status quo.
  • Experience in developing and managing key projects, liaising with team members, anticipating and addressing issues, and negotiating key elements with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • High skilled in preparing and presenting high-quality reports, submissions, briefings and correspondence for diverse stakeholders and senior decision makers.
  • Tertiary qualification in a related or relevant field (desirable).
