Senior Advisor, Engagement & Communications

  • $101,120 - $122,348 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed Term – 12 months
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available)

The position of Senior Advisor, Engagement and Communications, forms a part of the Jobs Victoria branch within the Employment and Inclusion group. Jobs Victoria helps Victorians find their way back to work and businesses find the people they need.  Jobs Victoria will do this by creating an integrated system to assist jobseekers by bringing together employment support, job creation, digital and phone services for Victorians in one place.  We are supported by dynamic online data-driven platforms which drive connections and performance across the employment system. 

Reporting to the Manager, Stakeholder Engagement, this role provides valuable contributions in designing and implementing engagement and communications strategies for Jobs Victoria services and provides expert advice on delivery of services to meet policy objectives. 

Key accountabilities:

  1. Manage key messaging and communications regarding the Jobs Victoria Fund. This includes managing the CRM and preparing communications materials (e.g. website content, factsheets, newsletters, case studies, slide decks, etc).
  2. Manage and respond to all correspondence relating to the Jobs Victoria Fund. This includes stakeholder enquiries, ministerial requests and managing the interface between the Strategic Engagement and Job Creation unit and the Jobs Victoria hotline, Jobs Victoria email and other channels.
  3. Support all ministerial requests and media opportunities associated with the Jobs Victoria including historical requests for Working for Victoria in collaboration with the Delivery and Strategic Communications branches.

Strong experience and a record of achievement in policy development and implementation are essential, preferably with experience in stakeholder management/engagement and a background in communications. The successful applicant should have excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills. 

The successful applicant will work alongside a small team and will work effectively across as a member of this team, enjoy flexible working arrangements and undertake a wide variety of work across the division.
