About us

Technology Solutions (TS) provides a range of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) services for the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). The branch sets the strategic direction of ICT in alignment with the business direction. TS is responsible for ICT strategies, initiatives, architectures, policies, projects, applications and infrastructure services in a multi-sourced environment.

About the role

The purpose of the Senior Architect role is the design and communication of high-level structures to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs.

The Director, Technology Strategy and Operations is currently looking for Senior Architects across the below streams:

  • Security
  • IT Cloud Security and
  • Security Operations.

In the role you will:

  • contribute to the development of and lead the implementation of architectures aligned with the department's organisation wide enterprise architecture principles and standards to meet highly complex project and business requirements
  • provide detailed technical input, support and direction by ensuring well architected security for all services, platforms and application solutions
  • provide authoritative subject matter professional advice and leadership in security in enterprise, solutions and technical architecture, to executives, business unit leaders and cross-functional teams leading departmental compliance and benefits realisation.

About you

Along with significant change management and leadership skills, as our ideal candidate you will have:

  • expert knowledge of, and demonstrated experience within a large ICT environment, of solutions and technical architecture practices
  • up-to-date knowledge and understanding of solutions and technical architecture best practices, as well as, knowledge of new or emerging technologies and their potential value to the organisation
  • experience in leading/utilising/participating in a range of waterfall (e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK) iterative, incremental and agile software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, ScrumBan, SAFe).
