Senior Business Analyst

  • $101,120 – $122,348 (Plus Superannuation)

The position of Senior Business Analyst forms a part of the Information Service branch within the Corporate Services group. Information Services (IS) oversees the delivery of ICT-related investments and services to DJPR. IS engages with the organisation to ensure ICT systems and services are appropriately designed, governed, and delivered.

Reporting to the Project Manager within DJPR's Information Service branch, the Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for identifying users' needs, gather user requirements, and develop solutions that will improve user experience and maximum our technology investment.   You will be optimistic about the power of design and technology to tackle the complex and interconnected problems facing the department of the day.

The Senior Business Analyst will be required engage key stakeholders and users across the organisation, coordinate and facilitate workshops, to understand how changes to processes and use of the Service Management tool can improve the way that we work. 

The successful applicant will have demonstrated high level analytical and problem-solving skills, client-focused approach with outstanding interpersonal skills, along with strong stakeholder management skills.

The key accountabilities of the role will include:

  • Gathering requirements and conducting design workshops with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to capture business, functional and technical requirements.
  • Identify continual service improvement opportunities by conducting gap analysis that clearly outlines the problem to determine steps should be taken to improve user experience. Promote best practice human-centred design methods and technique in your engagement and service delivery.
  • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative and productive working relationships with project stakeholders through provision of expert guidance, support and feedback to ensure proposed solutions meet business requirements.
  • Prepare high level advice, briefings and reports that support Project Manager and Senior Executives making important decisions for the department.
  • Test the solution and determine impact of test defects, assist stakeholders in determining actions and manage associated changes to requirements/designs/processes.
