What You Will Be Doing

An exciting opportunity now exists for an Allied Health (Grade 3) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (Grade 4) with relevant mental health qualifications, leadership and clinical experience to join our Aged Persons Community Mental Health Team on a permanent Full time capacity working Monday to Friday.

The Aged Persons Community Mental Health Team (APCMHT), is a multidisciplinary and integrated team which provides case management and community-based specialist mental health services, usually in the person's place of residence, to clients living in the Peninsula Health Mental Health Service (PHMHS) catchment who are over the age of 65 experiencing severe and persistent mental health disorders.

The Senior Clinician role will support the team and manager in the day to day functioning of the service as well as provide clinical care to clients and support to their carers, working closely with other care agencies, general medical practitioners and residential aged care facilities.

What You Need

The successful applicant will be a registered nurse or allied health clinician with advanced interpersonal skills and leadership skills, and preferably have a broad range of experience in mental health and in particular aged persons mental health. They should possess skills in assessment, treatment, consultation, risk assessment and recovery; and have a thorough understanding of the mental health system, as well as other community resources available.
