The Families where Parent/s have a Mental Illness (FaPMI) Coordinator role is to support and assist specialist mental health services and a range of community based organisations to build their capacity with families where a parent/s have a mental illness.

You will:



  • Identify assess and manage their clients by providing training, consultation, network development and advocacy support. 

  • Coordinate and promote activity which enhances the capacity of these services to assist families through partnerships between sectors, program development, workforce and resource development, and whole of community education.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of education and training programs for FaPMI and other specialist mental health programs

  • Develop/promote the establishment of policies, protocols, guidelines and resources to support responses to and practice with families where a parent/s has a mental illness

The Team


The Clinical Operations Division encompasses acute and mental health services.  We provide a wide range of general medical, surgical and speciality services including; Oncology, Cardiology, Renal, Emergency, Women’s and Children’s, Critical Care, Specialist Clinics and Mental Health Services.


The Mental Health Service provides psychiatric care and treatment across a large catchment area in Victoria stretching from Swan Hill in the north of the state to Gisborne in the south. Family sensitive practice is central to our models of mental health care and best practice ensures the identification, inclusion and support of families, carers and children.
