Senior Clinician – Integration

  • Ongoing part-time (0.8FTE) role | Flexibility to work between 4-8 days per fortnight
  • Based at a headspace centre: Craigieburn, Glenroy, Melton, Sunshine or Werribee
  • Grade 3 Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Psychologist, Grade 4 Registered Psychiatric Nurse | Opportunity for a senior clinician to develop their career

Your new team

Orygen Specialist Program provides mental health services to young people aged 15-25 that focuses on providing early intervention to young people with severe and complex mental illness and their families/carers in Melbourne's northwest and western suburbs.

Orygen’s headspace Centres aim to improve access to services and continuity of care for young people.

Your new role


The key focus of this role is to re-design and integrate the entry pathways for young people between primary clinical services and tertiary specialist services. This role will also:

  • Ensure that young people can access mental health treatment, care and support through headspace centres and specialist services, resulting in reduction in waiting times for assessment and therapy through headspace
  • Provide therapeutic interventions and care coordination with a range of mental health and situational issues, including assessment, care planning, referral, advice and consultation services to young people, their families/carers and community professionals/agencies
  • Provide inclusive and sensitive practice to young people and their families/carers from Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander, CALD and LGBTQIA backgrounds

About You:

  • Relevant registration and qualifications therapy and/or approved qualifications in family therapy, mediation or equivalent
  • Comprehensive experience in the provision of mental health assessment, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, treatment and case management, including with young people as a Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist or Registered Psychiatric Nurse
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships, collaborations and partnerships with internal and external services
  • Knowledge of the rationale and evidence for early intervention in mental illness
