Senior Clinician - Mental Health Act & FOI Coordinator

Mid West Area Mental Health Service (MWAMHS)

  • Full time ongoing role 

  • Work across various MWAMHS sites

  • An exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinician to provide leadership and support to the service regarding; Mental Health Act, Freedom and Information (FOI) and medico-legal requests

This is a multidisciplinary role and is open to Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Occupation Therapists, Social Workers and Psychologists.

Your new role:

  • Lead the continued compliance of the Mental Health Act 2014 and the provision of FOI and Medico legal duties across MWAMHS.

  • Consult with internal MWAMHS, Western Health departments and external organisations and stakeholders to enable processing of FOI and other medico legal requests.

  • Develop your leadership skills and provide clinical expertise to support the MWAMHS workforce

  • Work across the organisation, with key internal and external stakeholders and consumers, families and carers

  • Improve your knowledge and understanding of legislative

  • Support MWAMHS and staff to meet best practice standards in relation to legalsative requirement

About you:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in public mental health setting/s

  • Ability to understand and apply relevant legislation

  • High level of verbal and written communications

  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise

  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team member

  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders
