About the Team
People and Business Services is a Group in the Department of Transport and is responsible for providing business enabling people and corporate services functions, that drive a high-performance culture and to support integrated operations.
The People and Culture Division enables the attraction, development and retention of a high performing and diverse workforce, through driving a safe, inclusive and connected culture.

About the Opportunity
The Inclusion and Diversity team is responsible for leading and managing the development and delivery of organisational programs, policies and strategies to foster an inclusive and diverse workforce and build a culture where our people feel valued, respected and can perform at their best to achieve a prosperous and inclusive Victorian economy. Reporting to the Manager, WiT & Gender Equity and sitting within the People and Culture division, the Senior Consultant Inclusion & Diversity will lead the implementation of a Gender Equality Action Plan as part of the department's obligations under the Gender Equality Act 2020. You will play a vital role in advancing gender equity at the Department of Transport as you will advise on the integration of gender equity and inclusion across the Department.

About You
As the ideal candidate you will demonstrate

  • Subject matter expertise in gender equity derived through work experience, education and research.

  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing gender equity strategy, action plans and initiatives in complex institutional settings. Ability to interpret legislation e.g. Gender Equality Act 2020.

  • Excellent organisational, analytical and project management skills and the ability to operate independently within given guidelines and timeframes.

  • Ability to take an intersectional approach to gender equity and inclusion and diversity.

  • Ability to work in a job-share arrangement.
