Turning Point

The Victorian Government has recently appointed Turning Point, Australia’s leading addiction treatment, research and education centre, to set up a new state-wide specialist service to support Victoria’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Services as well as community alcohol and other drug (AOD) services to provide integrated care for people living with co-occurring mental illness and substance use or addiction. This new service will lead innovative, high impact, interdisciplinary, addiction and mental health research and education and support the delivery of expert primary and secondary consultation for people with the most complex needs, across Victoria’s transformed Mental Health and Wellbeing System.

About the role

Turning Point is looking for an experienced Education & Training Program Lead to establish services & programs to enhance the capability of mental health and addiction services in relation to people living with co occuring substance use, addiction and mental health presentations. Tertiary qualification in health, social or behavioural sciences highly regarded, plus clinical experience in alcohol/drug or mental health fields, project management & Microsoft Office skills. About you

 To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Demonstrated high level capacity in leading the development and delivery of significant and/or complex education and training projects
  • Tertiary qualification in the health, social or behavioural sciences field (Post-graduate qualifications will be highly regarded)
  • Clinical experience in the alcohol and drug or mental health fields or sound understanding of current alcohol and drug and mental health issues
  • Ability to project manage a number of education/training projects
  • Ability to conceptualise new education/teaching subjects and ideas and develop curriculum
  • Well-developed computing including capacity to utilise online traing module systems
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
