About the role

Bring your financial modelling and analysis skills to this role supporting the Manager, Regulation Finance. Working in an exciting and rewarding sector that has a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable Victorians and will support the Housing Registrar to regulate a portfolio of community housing agencies.

This role will deliver financial modelling and regulatory reform projects, data capture and analysis, regulatory reporting and be involved in strategic joint government projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Regulation of a portfolio of registered agencies in accordance with the Housing Act 1983, gazetted Performance Standards, Intervention Guidelines and associated policies, systems and business processes
  • Provide expert and authoritative analysis and advice on the compliance, performance and financial viability of registered agencies in your portfolio against Performance Standards
  • Support the Regulation Manager (Finance) on the development, planning and management of joint government projects for wider social housing system reform
  • Ensure effective communication and engagement with registered agencies and other key stakeholders
  • Identify emerging financial issues, trends and areas of potential harm for registered agencies and the sector
  • Provide support with reports, Ministerial briefs, Cabinet submissions on a range of complex compliance, performance and regulatory issues
  • Actively contribute to the development and delivery of the Housing Registrar's Strategic Plan

About you

To be considered for this role, you will have;

  • Expert financial modelling skills to identify risks, trends and emerging issues
  • Proven and extensive experience in in finance is required, preferably with a background that includes both public service and public practice audit and/or financial services experience
  • CA/CPA qualifications with complex financial modelling and strong financial, economic and commercial analysis skills
  • Well developed strategic and problem-solving skills in a rapidly moving environment
  • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills
  • Good project management skills to manage and deliver complex regulatory reform and joint government projects within timelines whilst managing a competing workload
  • Highly developed communication skills, both verbal and written
