Senior Grants Financial Analyst

The position of Senior Grants Financial Analyst forms a part of the Financial and Property Services branch within Corporate Service Group. The Financial and Property Services branch is responsible for managing aspects of the Department's financial accounting and internal control operations, systems and property services in accordance with the Financial Management Act 1994, other relevant legislations and department policies, accounting standards and DTF requirements.

The primary focus of this role is to undertake financial assessment of companies applying for financial assistance and provide detailed credit risk analysis to management regarding the financial risk exposure of the applicants.

The key accountabilities of the role will include:

  • Undertake the financial assessment of companies applying for financial assistance and/or business proposals; and provide detailed credit risk analysis regarding the financial risk exposure of the applicants.
  • Provide high level of policy and strategic advice on financial and risk management issues.
  • Prepare reports, including briefing papers, with recommendations on complex financial issues in relation to grant applications.
  • Liaise and negotiate with people at senior levels in both the public and private sectors; and represent the Department at meetings as required in connection with grant applications or related matters.
  • Develop and deliver the grants financial risk framework for the department. Setup processes and procedures including (but not limited to) risk tolerance statements, risk registers, monitoring systems and business intelligence and risk dashboards.
