  • Annual Salary Range: VPS5 - $98,396 - $119,052 + super

About the Team

The Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) team develops, implements, monitors and reports on initiatives designed to include, attract, recruit, and retain people from our five priority diversity groups: women; Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Australians; people with disability; lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex and queer + (LGBTIQ+) people; and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) people.

About the Opportunity

The Senior Inclusion & Diversity Consultant manages inclusion and diversity initiatives at DoT under the broad supervision of the Manager Inclusion & Diversity. The role is accountable for a variety of projects in collaboration with the Manager Inclusion & Diversity, including but not limited to,

  • strategy and action plan development and reporting,
  • developing and delivering training,
  • developing and reviewing policies,
  • preparing papers and reports,
  • undertaking research,
  • delivering presentations,
  • embedding measures and continuous improvement processes into initiatives, and
  • managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you are an experienced Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) and/or organisational development practitioner with demonstrated ability and skills in:

  • developing and delivering I&D strategies, programs, projects, action plans, and initiatives in accordance with agreed plans while attending to business as usual tasks and responding to the emerging needs of the organisation,
  • developing and maintaining positive and effective relationships and partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders,
  • using creative and advanced problem-solving skills to identify and manage emerging I&D issues,
  • project managing initiatives and projects that address operational, tactical and strategic business needs and meet deadlines with often competing priorities,
  • interpreting and providing sound advice on contemporary I&D-related initiatives and strategies, relevant state and federal employment legislation, and local policies and procedures,
  • adjusting engagement and communication style to gain trust, credibility and buy-in from colleagues and stakeholders, and
  • ensuring that I&D strategies, initiatives and success stories are communicated and shared throughout the organisation.

In addition, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and at least 2 years' experience in an I&D and/or organisational development related role.

As our workforce is geographically dispersed, travel between office locations throughout Victoria may be required, therefore your ability to work flexibly and in an agile manner is necessary to contribute to your success in this role.
