A key leadership role is available in our Contracts and Procurement Team. As the Senior Manager, Contracts you will help lead the team to provide support and advice to senior managers and directors within SSP on contract governance.

The Shared Service Provider (SSP) team delivers property, carpool and library services to clients across the Victorian Government, including Victorian Government departments and a range of agencies.

About the role 

A key leadership role is available in our Contracts and Procurement Team. As the Senior Manager, Contracts you will help lead the team to provide support and advice to senior managers and directors within SSP on contract governance.

The key accountabilities are to:

  • Manage the Whole-of-Victorian-Government property services contract (comprising Real Estate, Facilities Management (REFM), including providing expert advice on legal, or commercial aspects of the contract, and probity risks
  • Providing senior leadership across the SSP business group and contract management guidance to managers who have specialised contract(s) as part of their activities and deliverables
  • Co-ordinating the engagement of SSP Subject Matter Experts for the rigorous analysis of the Contractor's Discretionary Services proposals or contract variation proposals to ensure sound governance, smooth business processes and maximise value to the State
  • Apply strategic thinking to manage and monitor KPIs, benefit realisation and outcome-based contract performance and compliance in accordance with the contract, contract management plan, risk management plan and organisational policies and procedures
  • Provide expert advice and oversee design, implementation, promotion, continuous improvement of the SSP contract management framework including its application to outsourced providers
  • Support SSP's effective procurement to achieve value for the State and full compliance with all general government requirements, with the Team Leader Procurement reporting to this role 

About you 

  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and experience in procurement, compliance, policy development, contract review and risk management practices and methodologies, preferably in a Victorian Government context
  • Highly developed conceptual and analytic skills which support and enhance procurement activities, systems, and compliance measures
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, advise and negotiate with senior stakeholders, to lead meetings and make decisions
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a small team, and ability to manage a diverse workload, and competing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, influence colleagues and implement changes which enhance SSP's contract and procurement strategies management
