About the branch

The Commercial and Planning and Recovery Division leads and enables high quality services across Commercial Planning and activities, Park Planning, Managing Country Together, Fire Emergency Operations and Enforcement and Recovery.  The division provides the strategies, business processes and systems to efficiently and effectively deliver these core support services. The Fire Emergency and Enforcement Directorate oversees the provision of State-wide specialist resources in the area of fire emergency response and enforcement, including the development of capabilities and competencies of relevant response employees.

About the role and your responsibilities:  

As the Senior Manager Enforcement and Regulatory Services, you will develop a state-wide compliance framework, including procedures, tools and advice to implement the compliance framework and regional compliance plans. You will provide support and guidance to regions in relation to the legal and technical elements of enforcement.

In this role you will also manage state-wide firearms compliance on behalf of the General Manager Regional Services. The position represents Parks Victoria in enforcement and compliance forums with other government agencies. Duties would include management of the Environment and Regulatory Services Branch and responsibility for the workforce within the team including day-to-day people management of direct reports; providing direction and advice on the regulatory obligations and compliance requirements for Parks and Marine Protected Areas and ensuring the development of guidelines and advisory tools and training materials to assist Parks Victoria with the management of compliance and provision of relevant information.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business or equivalent is essential. A Diploma in Government (Investigations) or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Previous extensive experience within a Public Sector or Public Service environment is desirable.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in strong leadership and management skills
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in compliance and regulation in national parks
  • A current employee Working with Children Check
