Senior Maternal Child Health Nurse Adviser

Ongoing Full time or 12 secondment would be considered.

Salary range $104,685 to $111,983 plus Super


The Senior Maternal Child Health (MCH) Nurse Adviser is an ongoing role which provides expert MCH nursing advice to support performance, improvement and commissioning functions and project management implementation for the Maternal Child Health and Parenting (MCHP) Unit at the Department of Health. The role will work across teams – including Maternal Child Health (MCH) Line, MCH program and systems management and early parenting - to deliver key election commitments and strategic projects including the implementation of Sleep and Settling support and Child Link at the MCH Line, development and implementation of Child Development Information System (CDIS) training for MCH nurses and coordinators and service delivery improvements including for example the establishment of MCH service interfaces to support children and families in Hotel Quarantine.

You will have the opportunity to promote and support the health and wellbeing of families and young children from birth to school age whilst also linking families with the Universal and Enhanced MCH Programs and strengthening referral pathways to a range of health and family support services.

  • A qualified Maternal and Child Health Nurse with extensive service system knowledge and experience working with families?
  • A dynamic and collaborative person with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills?
  • Able to work across teams and manage project to deliver results?
