Senior Mental Health Clinician - Child & Adolescent
Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker + Psychiatric Registered Nurse
64 hours a fortnight available 

Up to $20,000 incentive payments may be available to support relocation
(Be reimbursed for rent, childcare, school fees, relocation costs and more). The Victorian Government has allocated funds to support rural and regional Area Mental Health Services (AMHS) to provide incentives to attract workers to roles that are difficult to fill.
The new workforce relocation and incentive grants program is being administered by Rural Agency Workforce Victoria (RWAV).

About the role

We are currently in the process of undergoing significant service reform with the active involvement and engagement of all staff in the service. This provides an opportunity to be involved in contributing to the development of an innovative, contemporary and person-centred Mental Health Service. The service provides opportunity to further develop skills and knowledge, with a commitment to supporting ongoing professional development and supervision.

Clinicians who undertake a career at BHS - BMHS will find the role is both challenging and rewarding, with exposure to a wide range of mental health disorders and treatments experienced by young people and families aged 0 -14 years. Our clinicians develop comprehensive knowledge and expert skill in the provision of contemporary mental health treatment for clients and families, leading to many opportunities for career progression and advancement.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Effectively work with complex needs particularly mental health and substance use.
  • Provide specialist support through primary, secondary and tertiary consultation
  • Actively influence the growing generic and discipline-specific clinical expertise of our multidisciplinary team
  • Undertake comprehensive psychiatric assessments, identifying and prioritising patient and family needs, demonstrating expert clinical judgement.

Skills and experience

You will have:

  • Relevant professional qualification in a health-related discipline (psychology, nursing, social work or occupational therapy) with current registration where applicable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of contemporary evidence- based treatments and best practices
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide leadership and mentoring within a multi-disciplinary team
