Seeking a proactive individual to join the Program Delivery and Evaluation team to design and implement Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning activities for multiple Solar Victoria programs.

The Senior Officer - Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL), will play a key role designing and implementing MEL activities for Solar Victoria's initiatives supporting Victoria's transition to a cleaner energy future. These include the flagship Solar Homes Program, Solar for Business, Zero-Emissions Vehicle subsidy and the new Home Heating and Cooling Upgrades program. 

The successful candidate will have a minimum five years' professional experience in policy or program-implementation roles, including at least two years' designing and/or implementing monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks. Demonstrated experience using data (quantitative or qualitative), program logic, evaluation (as an evaluator or evaluation manager) and program learning to support evidence-based policy and continuous improvement will be highly regarded. Both self-motivated and a team-player, the Senior Officer - MEL will build effective relationships across the organisation to advance the team's agenda and build Solar Victoria's evaluation capacity. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and written and verbal communication skills are essential.

This fast-paced, new role is an opportunity to work with other MEL specialists and the policy and program teams to maximise the reach and benefits of some of Australia's most ambitious clean-energy programs and cutting-edge pilot schemes. Technical knowledge of solar and other Distributed Energy Resources is not essential; however, the successful candidate will value the importance of renewable energy for Victoria's future and demonstrate a willingness to learn about this dynamic, growing sector.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in evaluation, economics, business, law, public administration or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years' practical experience designing and implementing MEL systems and processes

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 2 years. This position is located at Morwell.
