The North East Link Program will deliver the missing link in Melbourne's road network that will finally complete the Metropolitan Ring Road by connecting the M80 to the Eastern Freeway to improve outer north-south links for road freight movement and improve travel time and reliability. This role will be embedded as part of the Alliance.

About North East Link

North East Link is the biggest ever investment in Melbourne's north-east – changing the way people move around Melbourne.

Victoria's longest road tunnels will fix the missing link in our city's freeway network, take 15,000 trucks off local roads a day and slash travel times by up to 35 minutes. We'll also complete the Ring Road in Greensborough, overhaul the Eastern Freeway, build Melbourne's first dedicated busway and the North East Trail – more than 34km of walking and cycling paths.

About the Opportunity

Be part of a transformative infrastructure project for Victoria, with an exciting role in the North East Link Program's Delivery Freeways!

As our next Senior Planner and Scheduler, you will provide high level strategic planning and scheduling advice for package leadership, developing schedules for various complex work packages and monitors progression of works. The position is also accountable for ensuring compliance with North East Link Program (NELP) wide strategic planning and technical best practice guidance as well as supporting continuous improvement objectives.

Reporting to the Deputy Director, you will partner with internal and external executive stakeholders ensuring completeness, accuracy and clarity of works schedules, the identification of critical works, and the timely communication of schedule delays and issues arising along with mitigation strategies.

As the project progresses, this position is expected to be embedded as part of the Alliance.

It will be a requirement to travel and spend time at one or all of our site offices (Heidelberg, Watsonia and Abbotsford).

About You

You are a highly experienced planning and scheduling professional who is ambitious to apply their skills and experience on Victoria's most high profile and complex road infrastructure project.

  • Not only will you possess an excellent track record in delivering complex schedules, but you will also be able to see the bigger picture implications behind contractor proposals.
  • Extensive knowledge of whole of project life-cycle project management and program methodologies including business case development and demonstrated delivery through design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
  • Prior experience in the preparation of work breakdown structures and project budgets and ability to relate physical activities to project costing and Earned Value frameworks.
  • Ability to develop detailed construction programs for major infrastructure projects from first principles using measured quantities and industry accepted productivity rates utilising Primavera or Microsoft Project
