The Senior Policy and Project Officer will provide policy and project management expertise to the Yallourn Emergency Management Branch to provide ongoing monitoring and strategic advice on the Yallourn emergency works program, focusing on developing relationships across the interdepartmental team to gather critical information.

In response to the storms and flooding in June 2021, a team has been established to work across departments and oversee the high‑profile work program dedicated to the response and recovery of the Yallourn Morwell River Diversion (MRD).

The Senior Policy and Project Officer will provide policy and project management expertise to the Yallourn Emergency Management team. The role will require someone with the right skill set and experience to work collaboratively across an interdepartmental team on complex policy and regulatory issues, while also collecting critical information and reporting on progress towards Victorian Government approved workplans.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in managing a major government priority. 

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated project management experience in a government agency would be highly desirable.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 18 months.
