  • Full time maximum term position up to 12 months (part time considered)
  • This role is a parental leave replacement position
  • Salary based on experience, range: $123,625 - $157,340 plus

About the role:

Join us in this pivotal manager role where you will be at the forefront of driving change and making a significant impact in the legal sector. As a key player in our team, you will not only provide strategic advice and support to our Legal Practice Director and Managers, but you will also be the driving force behind writing high-quality memorandums, providing project management, and policy advice.

Your passion and dedication will be evident as you work to manage and implement policy initiatives, coordinating crucial policies and projects with both internal and external stakeholders. You will be a champion for change as you implement modifications to funding guidelines and fees, represent our Legal Practice Directorate in important meetings and consultations, and collaborate closely with Program Managers and the Policy Network to enhance and solidify relationships with our applicants for legal aid, clients and practice partners.


About you:

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Demonstrated experience leading policy development and project management; designing, coordinating, and implementing projects.
  • High level research, writing and policy analysis skills, including an ability to think laterally and innovatively in providing advice, strategies and solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage, influence and negotiate with people across all levels of the organisation and with external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience in law, public policy or a related field (mandatory)
  • Policy and projects experience (mandatory).
