POSITION SUMMARY:

Senior Policy Officer/Advisor - 2 Vacancies

Multiple opportunities available in health workforce policy, program management and strategy for suitably experienced individuals

The Senior Policy Advisor/Officer is a key member of the Workforce Strategy and Wellbeing Branch.

The Workforce Strategy and Wellbeing Branch works to support a sustainable and integrated healthcare workforce and provides expert advice on workforce issues, emerging trends and future directions to enhance service delivery across the health sector and improve the health and wellbeing of all Victorians.  Key functions include:

  • Providing advice on key issues affecting medical and health professions within the health sector,
  • Supporting the medical and health workforce supply pipelines and the recruitment and retention of highly skilled practitioners across the health system,
  • Building the capability of medical and health professionals and the broader workforce to respond to systems-level challenges and reform,
  • Promoting and facilitating the development and optimal utilisation of the medical and health professional workforce to deliver high quality, contemporary services and innovations that best respond to community need, and
  • Enhancing visibility and understanding of the medical and health professions and their value-add to the health system.
