  • Location: Melbourne CBD An exciting opportunity to contribute to delivering the Victorian government's ambitious climate change policy agenda and embedding climate change adaptation into core sectors that are vulnerable to climate change.

The Adaptation Policy Team is a multi-disciplinary team that provides advice on climate change adaptation priorities and works with partners to build resilience to climate change in Victoria. This position sits within the Adaptation Team, reports to the Manager Adaptation and manages several direct reports supporting development of the seven AAPs.

The successful candidate will work closely with the other direct reports to the Manager Adaptation, which focus on place-based adaptation and strategic adaptation, as well as with the staff delivering other programs in the branch on climate science data, communications, risk and greenhouse gas emissions reduction.

This position will manage and develop staff, build relationships with and influence stakeholders across the Victorian Government to deliver or contribute to AAPs, and lead the strategic planning and delivery of a complex work program and processes to support AAP delivery within a fast-moving and changeable work environment.

Specialist/Technical Expertise

  • Tertiary qualification(s) including science, engineering, law, economics, public policy, natural resource or environmental management, development studies or similar is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge of climate change adaptation policy issues.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in planning and delivering a program of multiple, interdependent projects.

This is a fixed term position until 31 October 2021.
