The Procurement Branch is part of the Corporate Services portfolio and focuses on supporting the Department and several portfolio agencies through a decentralised procurement model.  Business areas undertake procurement activities and the Corporate Procurement Team (CPT) as expert advisors at all points of the procurement process. At these points the CPT provides guidance, advice, ideas and solutions, while ensuring procurement activities are undertaken within government legislative and policy requirements.

The CPT partners with business areas to build skills in procurement, provide advice, devise solutions and ensure purchasing and contract management activities achieve value for money and are efficient, effective and ethical.  This involves the application of comprehensive working knowledge of established legislation, policy, procedures and guidelines to a range of activities often involving complexity and sensitivity.

As the Senior Procurement Adviser, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement activity. The role provides expert advice and guidance to business areas on all stages of the procurement process, assists with market research and approach, compliance checks, reviews and working with influence to promote best practice procurement.

  • experience in a procurement or commercial role 
  • knowledge and experience in commercial end-to-end procurement

To be successful in the role you will have experience in in commercial end-to-end procurement and specific experience in a procurement or commercial role encompassing all aspects of the procurement process within a complex environment.
