Senior Program Officer - Alternative Dispute Resolution - Training

Dispute Services is a multi-dispute stream agency which includes Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV), and the Dispute Settlement Centre Victoria (DSCV).

Dispute Services provides for the more timely, fair and less costly resolution of disputes while it empowers and assists the Victorian community to prevent and appropriately resolve issues. 

Dispute Services is a recognised mediator accreditation body and a conflict resolution training provider.

About the role

As part of a small team, the Senior Program Officer - Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) - training is responsible for delivering National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS) courses, tailored conflict resolution training and ADR skills development.

Working closely with the Quality Assurance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, design, delivery and evaluation of the ADR and conflict resolution programs for a wide range of stakeholders

What will a Senior Program Officer - Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) - Training do?

  • Design, develop and deliver a range of high quality training programs for Dispute Services including NMAS training, conflict coaching and conflict management training using Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) principles and standards
  • Design, develop, deliver and evaluate training programs for Dispute Services staff including individual mentoring and coaching as needed
  • Identify and monitor external trends and issues in ADR, and provide high level advice and recommendations to the Quality Assurance Manager and Senior leadership team
  • Working closely with the Quality Assurance Manager scope potential program delivery opportunities and support internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Support the Quality Assurance Manager in the design, development and delivery of digital and blended professional leaning programs using adult learning principles
  • Develop, implement and maintain a quality management system to continuously improve Dispute Service training, activities and outcomes
  • Maintain reporting requirements and prepare reports
  • Adhere to all organisational and departmental record keeping policies and procedures
  • Engage with colleagues across Dispute Services and participate in a variety of projects, programs and initiatives

About Us

What values and skills should you have?

  • Current registration as a Nationally Accredited Mediator is essential
  • Minimum of three years experience, both as a NMAS accredited mediator and as a trainer
  • Knowledge and experience in developing and delivering education and training in Alternative Dispute Resolution is desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, programs and resources
  • Demonstrates commitment to the objectives of the work area and the organisation and shows considerable drive and effort in achieving work targets
  • Acts confidently to quickly build rapport with others
