The Senior Project Engineer supports the planning and delivery of major complex road infrastructure through developing and delivering project activities, supporting the strategic direction of MRPV and building effective and collaborative stakeholder relationships.

Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) was established to deliver a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of key road projects across Victoria, including new roads, road widenings, new bridges and major freeway upgrades. MRPV manages complex and strategically important road projects from business case development through to completion connecting local communities and supporting Victoria's growing economy.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Senior Project Engineer supports the planning and delivery of major, complex road infrastructure through developing and delivering project activities, supporting the strategic direction of the organisation, directing contractors on construction sites and building effective and collaborative stakeholder relationships.

Specifically, these roles will contribute to; the building and widening of new and existing lanes and bridges; the installation of traffic signals and; intersection upgrades, among others.

This role will be based out of our Traralgon office therefore applicants must live in, or be willing to relocate to, the Traralgon region.

This is a fixed term position for a period of 3 years.

About You

You may currently be working as a Site Engineer for a contracting firm or as a Project Engineer or a Senior Project Engineer for one of the transport authorities around Australia.

Interested applicants must meet all of the criteria listed below to be considered for this position:

• A relevant engineering qualification (Bachelor of Civil Engineering preferred) is mandatory
• Extensive project delivery experience within road and/or rail construction is essential
• The ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively is critical
• Prior experience working effectively with a third-party contractor workforce
• A sound understanding of contract management
• A commitment to working to the highest standards of health and safety at all times
