• An exciting opportunity for an experienced project manager to contribute to library sector development and engagement
• 6-month fixed term, full-time role
• Hybrid work (3 days in the Melbourne CBD office & 2 days working from home)
• Attractive VPS 5.1 salary between $103,920 - $114,828 + 10% superannuation

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Library Sector Engagement, your key accountabilities will include:

• Delivering high-level, statewide strategic library sector development projects including industry research, strategy development, professional development of staff, advocacy and community engagement programs that position Victorian public libraries for the future
• Establishing and maintaining positive internal and external stakeholder relationships and working in a way that strengthens a culture of sector-wide collaboration
• Achieving project outcomes within specified timeframes and budgets, and to the satisfaction of project owners, while ensuring compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements
• Undertaking evaluation of statewide public library projects
• Ensuring that State Library Victoria meets its obligations to promote high standards in the sector, through outstanding delivery of sector development initiatives
• Providing high-quality support for a process to deliver a plan for the next three years of State Library collaboration with the Victorian public library sector

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have/be:

• Knowledge of the Australian and international library sectors
• Significant experience in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Proficient in one or more project methodologies
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills
• A collaborative problem solver
• Accountable, adaptable and committed
• A recognised tertiary qualification and/or experience in project management, library and information management, community development or a relevant discipline
• A current Victorian driver licence
• A valid Working with Children Check card or ability to obtain one prior to commencement

State Library Victoria is overseen by Creative Victoria, part of the Victorian Government's Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions, and reports to the Minister for Creative Industries.

It is Australia's oldest public library. Over more than 160 years, we have collected almost 5.5 million items including books, manuscripts, serials, photographs, artworks, maps and ephemera. Each year we add more than 70,000 heritage items to the Library's rich collection.
