About Us:

Victim Services, Support and Reform (VSSR) is part of the Police, Racing, Victims and Coordination group within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). VSSR is responsible for the delivery and reform of services to victims of crime, placing victims at the centre of our justice system.  

The Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) is a landmark reform that will replace the Courts based Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT) with an administrative scheme that prioritises the needs of victims and supports their recovery from violent crime. 

About the Role:

This role is an exciting opportunity to play a leadership role in a transformational project and deliver real change for victims of crime.The role will have a project reporting line to the Senior Project Manager and will have oversight and responsibility for coordinating and driving delivery of key workstreams in the Business Implementation team.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Leading the project delivery of the workstreams that sit within the Business Implementation team – change, communications, community engagement, workforce, training and development and property. 
  • Establishing and maintaining project documentation required to ensure appropriate oversight of workstream's timeframes, resourcing and risks including identifying and appropriately engaging internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preparing high level briefings and reports as appropriate on Business Implementation team activities for senior audiences and governance forums.

About You:

As an ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex projects, preferably within government and those relating to the establishment or transformation of a new workforce or operating model.
  • Track record in driving delivery of high-profile reform projects through direct and indirect reports.
  • Demonstrated experience in using a range of project controls and tools to track actions, report status and monitor risks.
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship management and influencing skills to achieve project outcomes and objectives within tight timeframes.
  • Demonstrated experience in workforce implementation and change management.
  • Sound understanding of the criminal justice or victim support system (desirable).
