Rail Projects Victoria (RPV) is the Victorian Government body responsible for the delivery of the Metro Tunnel Project, Regional Rail Revival, Melbourne Airport Rail and the Western Rail Plan including fast rail between key regional cities and Melbourne. RPV is responsible for all aspects of the projects including planning and development of the project reference design, site investigations, stakeholder engagement, planning approvals and procurement, through to construction delivery and project commissioning. Major Transport Infrastructure Authority (MTIA) comprises of Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), Rail Projects Victoria (RPV, MTIA), North East Link Project (NELP), West Gate Tunnel Project (WGTP) and Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV).

About the opportunity

RPV, MTIA is seeking to engage  a Senior Project Manager to lead the planning and development of the South Geelong to Waurn Ponds Duplication Project within a major complex transport infrastructure program by means of developing and overseeing project development and delivery activities, assisting with strategic direction and cultivating effective and collaborative stakeholder relationships. The ability to build and maintain high-level influential relationships across a broad range of stakeholders is fundamental to the success of this role. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for project activities including project design and development, procurement, constructability and delivery planning, staging and commissioning. It is intended that this role will be based within the Geelong region from June 2022, working within the Alliance Partnership. Key outcomes include the development of infrastructure solutions that deliver the required operational efficiently within the designated budget, quality and time allowances. The role will lead a team of engineers and project managers, providing high quality people management and supporting ongoing capability development. 

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be experienced in managing design, development and construction of major brownfield infrastructure projects
  • Have commercial and contract management experience in a broad range of delivery models including D&C and/or Alliance
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully plan and manage project package interfaces across multiple disciplines within complex multi-project environments
  • Have proven ability to provide professional guidance, influence the direction and approach of the team and work to be an effective team player
  • Bachelor (or higher) qualification in Engineering is mandatory and extensive relevant experience in Project Management and Delivery
