About us

COVID-19 Quarantine Victoria (CQV) is responsible for Victoria's COVID-19 Accommodation response, including:

  • Mandatory quarantine for returned overseas travellers
  • Emergency Accommodation for people that cannot safely isolate/quarantine in their accommodation.

The Victorian Chief Health Officer has mandated that all returning overseas travellers arriving in Victoria must go into mandatory quarantine for 14 days from the day of their arrival to help prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

In addition, CQV is responsible for the operation of Victoria's Emergency Accommodation program for community members and their close contacts who have tested positive for COVID-19 and where an assessment has concluded that there are no other suitable alternative accommodation options for self-isolation.

Infection control and prevention is the primary objective of the mandatory quarantine and emergency accommodation programs.

About the role

The Strategic Projects team operates within a dynamic and fast paced environment to deliver on projects of key strategic importance to the organisation.

In the role of Senior Project Officer, Strategic Projects, you will support the planning and delivery of key projects and reforms to quarantine accommodation sites across the program and provide authoritative and strategic policy advice to the project team, senior executive staff and government on the design and development of programs and services for the quarantine accommodation sites.

The Senior Project Officer will collaborate with and manage other project team members in the preparation of project tools, reports, policy documents and ministerial briefings.

This role will manage a range of key project activities to provide service excellence to the mandatory quarantine program

This role also includes:

  • Conduct the planning, coordinating and delivery of multiple projects or initiatives related to the smooth running of the COVID Accommodation program.
  • Lead the consultation of multi-stakeholder groups to develop operational policy and procedures and engaging a range of stakeholders to deliver outcomes and drive progress.
  • Preparation of complex correspondence for technical reporting to key stakeholders as well as development of advanced, professional operating instructions and policy documents.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in policy development and project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervision and management of project teams.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
