An exciting opportunity exists within the Business and Finance Services branch, for an experienced Senior Project Officer to join an established, professional team providing business planning and performance reporting coordination across Agriculture Victoria, as well as timely analysis and advice to the Agriculture Victoria Leadership Team.

The position supports the Manager, Group Business Planning and Performance Reporting with delivery of advice, coordination and reporting in planning and performance management and is key to delivering rigorous, transparent, and accountable practices and processes for evaluating, monitoring, and reporting on past, present and future value and impact of program investments across the agriculture portfolio.

The Senior Project Officer will have a high level of drive and commitment, integrity and resilience and be able to build trust through consistent actions, values and communication. They will be able to translate detailed analysis into strategic advice, work effectively as a member of a team, enjoy flexible working arrangements and help promote best practice business planning and performance reporting across the group.

The main key accountabilities of the role will include:

  • Assist with the development of the annual Agriculture Victoria Business Plan, including coordination of Agriculture Victoria's business planning cycle process, provision of support and advice to Agriculture Victoria branches and undertaking environmental scanning.
  • Support the development of Agriculture Victoria's annual Department Performance Statement submission, including leading the review of performance measures.
  • Coordinate and guide Agriculture Victoria branches in conducting lapsing program evaluations and providing key input into briefing material for the Chief Executive of Agriculture Victoria.
  • Lead coordination of reporting and analysis tasks relating to quarterly and annual reporting items for Agriculture Victoria to various external and internal stakeholders, including Election Commitment and Priority Action monitoring and reporting; development of the Output Performance Report and End of Financial Year Output Report (including performance measure reporting); and input into PAEC briefs on the these items.
  • Support the Manager, Group Business Planning and Performance, to identify risks and opportunities for improvement, streamlining and integration, including identification and adoption of new business process improvements and products, and coordinate the implementation of new corporate systems and procedures.
