The Senior Project Officer will play a key role in the economic recovery and revitalisation of inner metropolitan Melbourne. This role is responsible for supporting the design, oversight and reporting of two major funds that are being co-funded and co-delivered by the Victorian government and the City of Melbourne – the $100 million Melbourne City Recovery Fund and the $200 million Melbourne City Revitalisation Fund. These two funds are focussed primarily on the CBD and surrounds and involve a combination of stimulus and strategic interventions relating to business support, city activation events and activities and public realm and infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the Manager, Economic Development, Inner Metropolitan Melbourne, the role is part of a diverse, multi-disciplinary team within the Local Government and Suburban Development Group. Throughout the start-up phase, of a newly established function, the Senior Policy Officer must be comfortable designing and delivering key activity, as well as being able to support the Manager with other activity as required.  A team player, you will enjoy flexible working arrangements and undertake a variety of work across the team. In addition to the two Melbourne City funds, you will work across State and local government on the longer-term economic revitalisation of the inner city. Working in a dynamic and fast paced environment, you will consult widely and bring a collaborative, can-do, creative and rigorous approach to project design and execution.
