Two exciting fixed term opportunities for a Senior Policy Officer to join the Early Learning and Development Reform Branch which leads the delivery and successful implementation of early childhood education workforce retention and practice support projects that can have a real impact on positively supporting the learning and development outcomes of children. Both roles lead on or support project management, procurement processes and contract management on exciting small and large initiatives.

A great opportunity to join the growing team in the Department of Education and Training focused implementing major reform in early childhood in Victoria.

Two fixed term Senior Project Officer positions are available in the Early Years Workforce and Early Learning Units of Early Learning Division. These positions contribute to the successful delivery of projects focused on improving professional practice and workforce retention in the early childhood education sector.

Both teams sit within the Early Learning and Development Reform Branch which leads the implementation of Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and supports quality improvement in early childhood settings in line with this framework.

The successful candidates will:

  • formulate advice and options relating to initiatives and policies overseen by their team
  • lead projects, which includes effective project and stakeholder engagement/management
  • manage small and large-scale procurement tasks focused on leadership, teaching and learning supports for the early childhood workforce
  • prepare complex, accurate and well-expressed reports, briefs and correspondence
  • apply innovative thinking and problem solving to assigned tasks
  • be collaborate team players.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the Victorian Public Sector values ande xperience in or knowledge of the early childhood sector will be highly valued.
